Calling `savepath` prevents me from editing files outside VS Code

A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

**To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Connect to MATLAB within VS Code
2. From the integrated command window, run `>> savepath`
3. Open a separate MATLAB instance
4. Call `>> edit` - this errors

**Expected behavior**
In the separate MATLAB instance, calling `edit` should open the Editor
