Possible Open Source Firmware Integration

This is an awesome tool but after switching on to Daniel Nillson's open source firmware (https://github.com/danielnilsson9/bbs-fw) I am not going back to Bafang's original one and I can't use SPEEED.
Do you think it would be possible to do some collaboration and make SPEEED compatible with his firmware. That would be truly awesome for the community?

In fact, I cant understand why @mkopa abuses GitHub, when he does not even publish the code?!
