Same, I've also tried with grcov 0.8.20 from crate.io. Same result.

Basically, you have a mismatch between your system's LLVM version (the one you compile your code with, I guess) and the one that is shipped by rust. You can check rust's version by:

rustc --version --verbose

I'm also having this issue on Arch Linux; however, I don't even have llvm installed on my machine. I've tried with grcov 0.8.19, 0.8.24, and multiple versions of rustc (1.79, 1.83, and 1.86).

I do have llvm-libs installed (and I don't think I can easily downgrade/remove it, because other packages depend on it), but I'm not really sure how or why this would matter, I'm not doing anything with llvm to compile my code, and it appears to be the same version:

I don't know if there's a meaningful difference between 19.1.7-1 and 19.1.7, either, but it seems like even if it was using the machine-installed llvm-libs, these two should have the same profile version? I'm very confused by this.
