Please provide some hints about when the custom uqmi package is required

Hello!
Following the instructions for OpenWRT on the TP-Link MR6400, I downloaded and installed this uqmi package, version 22.03.2: it worked (LTE connection by the Iliad provider, in Italy)!

But now I'm not sure if I actually need this custom package, or if the stock one provided by OpenWRT 22.03.3 is OK for me.

Please con you provide some hints about when/why your package is actually required and if/when your customization will be included upstream? Thank you!

I think you need my custom package, based on other MR6400 users. They had have problems to get the LTE modem working with the official uqmi package.
But, you can always install the official package and test.

I have sent most of my changes upstream, but all have not been committed jet.

I can confirm that this package is still required using 22.03.3 on the TP-link MR6400.

Huge thanks to @mrhaav for providing this. You had perfect timing dropping the 22.03.3 compatible package. It would be great if this could get merged into OpenWRT.

Hi, I'm on OpenWrt 23.05.2 r23630-842932a63d is this custom package still required or is it fixed upstream ?
