I think it seems to be able to build the latest webkitgtk package.

There is a gaming computer in my house which is on the Window platform. I went back and tried to build it with msys2. If all the dependency problems can be solved, I think it should be able to build successfully.

The biggest issue is that webkitgtk doesn't really care about other platforms other than Linux currently.

I know, but gtk supports other platforms, and webkit also supports other platforms. Maybe just need some very small changes.

Getting it to work... the cross-platform code works on Windows now, and that is the hard part, but the GTK-specific code for Windows was deleted long ago. Would be some effort to resurrect it.
<MichaelCatanzaro[m]> I guess 1-2 developers experienced with Windows might be able to make it work. You'd really need to commit to long-term maintenance if you were planning to depend on it, though. Not recommended to undertake lightly.

so theyd have to rebase every now and then?, the problem is the AI era only applies for smol projects, gigantic projects such as chromium is a shitshow tbh

@AvtechScientific I have been in contact with Igalia about this aswell. They say the same as Michael Catanzaro that 1-2 dev full time is needed. (To mee it sounds a bit much, ones it works).

Are you willing to pay for someone to do the work, I would like to pay, but can't afford 2 full time devs ?

@mikkeljohnsen - when have you contacted Igalia regarding this? Before or after the AI revolution? (I'm currently supporting an open-source project - both financially and also by contributing so have no more spare resources here)

@AvtechScientific I first contacted them before the AI revolution and again last month. But the same reply. That the interest for a Windows version is small and it would be difficult to find developers who wants to work on a Windows version.

Not to forget that we also need a macOS version. Not sure if it is working for macOS.

Well, I'm wondering whether they have just recycled their old reply or indeed had AI in mind and nevertheless were of the opinion that it will not reduce the required effort. Anyway, if you indeed can sponsor this initiative in the long run, even a 0.5 developer - it's quite a lot. You may want to consider posting a short call on the Gnome forum AND Cygwin mailing lists AND msys2 channels stating that you are willing to sponsor the Windows porting effort of WebKitGTK. Remember to remind the recent AI achievements as this a game changer now. Who knows - maybe you'll find the right people that way... As for macOS - WebKit itself of course works on it, as it is its primary target platform. As for the GTK wrapper part - this probably will depend on GTK's general support of macOS. I remember there were discussions on dropping that support several years ago. I'm not sure where it is standing now...
