Solution Overview

Replaced flexbox layout with CSS Grid using fixed track sizing to guarantee no wrapping occurs within individual data fields.

Key Changes

  1. Individual Field Grids: Each display component (SymbolDisplay, PriceDisplay, etc.) now uses a 2-column grid:

    grid-template-columns: [label] auto [value] 1fr;
    gap: 0.25rem; /* Small gap between label and value */
  2. Container Grid: Parent containers use explicit grid layouts:

    grid-template-columns: max-content max-content 1fr;
    gap: 1rem; /* Spacing between fields */
  3. No-Wrap Guarantees:

    • Labels have whitespace-nowrap to prevent internal wrapping
    • Values use truncate class for ellipsis when space is limited
    • Each field has min/max width constraints

Width Constraints

  • Symbol: min: 100px, max: 150px

Responsive Behavior

The grid maintains its structure across all viewport sizes. When space is constrained:

  1. Values truncate with ellipsis rather than wrap
  2. The entire row may wrap to a second line if needed
  3. Individual label:value pairs never break
