Core dump when setting certain Error messages in scripted synapse function

Using "nerd.error" in a synapse function script can result in a segfault under certain conditions (unclear). Outputting a fixed string seems to be no problem, but trying to send a concatenated string of calculated values might have the qt metacall system crash.
