is there room for non-cloud-native in Open GitOps? #42

Description

@chriswolske

I just stumbled on open-gitops and all of your content over the holiday break. Great stuff. Watched a handful of meeting videos and tried to consume as much content on these repos as possible.

I know this is a CNCF initiative, but is consideration being given to those of us who are not in the cloud-native space? Almost everything I am finding so far is about Kubernetes and argo and flux, and I'm looking at applying GitOps in the context of VMs and different hypervisors and declarative operating system configurations, instead of containers and k8s.

I've run my ideas through the 4 GitOps principles and it all still fits within that framework. I guess I'm just wondering if there is a subgroup of people who are focusing on this context or if non-cloud-native can also have a seat at the big kids table, so to speak.

I'm looking forward to joining (listening in) on the next working group session.
