Applying for a not yet transferred package

Hello,

I'm looking for a new space to host the ConfigFile library as the new maintainer, however I don't necessarily have much credentials in the Haskell community to back up my application. Is transferring a package to a new maintainer that would join the trust as a result an issue? If so, is it possible to transfer the package and make my first contributions as an external contributor in the meantime?

My second question is: is it possible to join this trust under a pseudonym? I like to keep my identity concealed to the public internet, although it's definitely possible to find out who I am with a bit of research, and I can share my real name privately to the trust members if necessary, but I would definitely prefer to keep it hidden from the public.

Hi @drlkf I agree that ConfigFile would be a good package for haskell-github-trust.

Is there anyone else in the the trust who knows you and could vouch for you? https://github.com/haskell-github-trust/.github/blob/main/TRUSTEES.md

If you intend to be an active maintainer of ConfigFile then transferring ConfigFile to your own github account is just as good as transferring it to the haskell-github-trust.

Fair enough, I'll verify my identity publicly then. What would be our best course of action? Should I ask the previous maintainer to move the repository to the trust and start working on it as an external contributor? I already have a few changes stashed to make a new release, I suppose it would be a good opportunity to set up the CI to upload release candidates, wdyt?

Keep in mind that to maintain ConfigFile you really can just transfer ConfigFile to your own Github account. That's just as good.
