I just installed the latest ISO for LMDE 7. It did not install systemd-cryptsetup by default.
Without this package, Mint will still unlock luks boot volumes configured in crypttab, through initramfs hooks. However, it will silently ignore non-boot luks volumes configured in crypttab.
