Status not updating

When I open a ppt, the status from oscpoint is correct "edit". When I start the presentation, the status change to "running". But when the presentation is stopped, the staus will be still "running".
Only when I close Powerpoint, the staus will change.

Hi. I'm experiencing the same issue with OSCPoint 2.1.0.0 and a fresh install of companion 4.2.2 on a Pi5. It's a new one for me.

When I open a PPT, "$(PPT-A_Main:state)" variable from OSCPoint correctly shows "edit". When I start the presentation, the state changes to "running", not "slide show". I'm not sure where "running" comes from as it is not a state that appears in the available feedback state dropdown. When the presentation is stopped, the status continues to show "running", not "edit". The status only changes when I close the presentation.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Nick. I updated the Companion module but I'm still seeing running remain as the state when I switch from show to edit. It's as if the PPT add-in doesn't change what it's sending when it is moved out of slideshow mode.

I think it is missing the message /oscpoint/slideshow/state ?

Thanks both for the logs - here's what I think is happening:

• If you end a slide show using OSCPoint the status updates OK
• If you end a slide show using e.g. the ESC key in PowerPoint it doesn't update

except:

• If your slide show is set to individual window mode (PPT ->Slide Show -> Set Up Slide Show), it does update OK.

Let me know if that's what you're seeing to.

Fixing this will probably need a new version of the OSCPoint plugin.

@phuvf and @hagert71 Further to hagert71's last post, I used Protokol to capture OSC output from my PPT laptop and found a couple of things. It looks like there is no slide show state command sent when exiting from slide show to edit. I've pruned log entries that aren't relevant to this issue.

On presentation file open, I see the "edit" state reflected:

I tried both ways. First i always used the ESC button but lazy as I am I then created a companion button from the presets.

I always have the powerpoint open in presenter mode, because that is the way i need it at the events.

@phuvf and @hagerth I get no change in state when ending the slide show with OSC using a button on my Stream Deck through Companion NOR do I get any change in state when using the laptop's ESC key to end the slide show. There is no change in state until I close the file/PPT.

Ditto re extended desktop for running presentations. Corporate events and conferences all the way.

This issue should now be fixed in OSCPoint v2.2.0.0 (currently in beta). If you could give this a spin and see if it fixes the issues, I'd be very grateful.
