The problem

Hello,
I am testing every beta and this warning appears since beta3 or beta4 and still present in beta5. It didn't show before with my repository configured with hooks for several month now.

I am using husky in that NodeJS project, the content of pre-prush is:

#!/usr/bin/env sh
. "$(dirname "$0")/h"

I think this might be related to the new Hooks support added by the upstream project. Can you try disabling "Load Git hook environment variables from shell" in the Git Hooks settings?

This indeed resolve my issue, the hooks running under the commit box no longer show now but that's normal.

I just had this issue when pushing to upstream, maybe I have to create an issue in GitHub Desktop as it's a feature implemented there?

If you have access to a Windows or macOS machine, you could try to reproduce the issue in the official GitHub Desktop app.
However, I suspect this will be a Linux-only problem, so the upstream maintainers won't be interested in fixing it.

Let's leave this issue open for now. This is currently a low-priority problem, since it can be easily fixed by just disabling the hooks integration. However, it would be nice to make this work by default in the future.
