[Bug] TH UI not coming up after fresh installation of 1.4.2 (Final Release) TH image, returns 404 page not found error.

Describe the bug

After successfully installing the 1.4.2(Final release) TH image, Unable to open the TH UI and getting below error.

404 page not found

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Fresh installation:

1. git clone -b v2.13+summer2025 https://github.com/project-chip/certification-tool.git --recurse-submodules
2. cd ~/certification-tool
3. ./scripts/pi-setup/auto-install.sh
4. At the end of the script, select option 1 to restart the RaspberryPi .
5. Wait ~10 minutes
6. Open the TH UI using the RPi IP in browser:

Expected behavior

TH UI should load without any error after successful installation.

It looks like the problem coming from the huge API difference after recent Docker update
level=error msg="Failed to retrieve information of the docker client and server host: Error response from daemon: client version 1.24 is too old. Minimum supported API version is 1.44, please upgrade your client to a newer version" providerName=docker

Temporary solution is to put {"min-api-version": "1.24"} to the /etc/docker/daemon.json (file doesn't exist by default)
and restart services: ./scripts/start.sh

Also wondered why Traefic image is so old:

I added {"min-api-version": "1.24"} to /etc/docker/daemon.json and restarted the services ./scripts/start.sh , but the issue remained. After rebuilding the frontend Docker image using ./frontend/scripts/build-docker-image.sh and restarting the services again ./scripts/start.sh, the TH UI started working successfully.

Hi @Ashwinigrl as a candidate fix, I created this PR #817.
In addition, the user can run the fix-docker-workaround.sh script, available in the PR, if the issue still persists.

Hi @rquidute,
I was facing a similar issue with the Matter v1.4.2 branch. Later, I tried updating the branch to workaround_docker_traefik_issue_v_1_4_2 and ran the installation script, but the script terminated with an error. I retried the same process and reencountered the same issue.

I have attached the logs for your reference—please have a look. After that, I performed a fresh installation, and it worked.

BTW, you can also run ./scripts/fix-docker-workaround.sh from workaround_docker_traefik_issue_v_1_4_2 branch , if you want to keep in the same TH version.

Hi @rquidute, I have now freshly cloned the workaround_docker_traefik_issue_v_1_4_2 branch, and it is working fine. I am currently facing issues with the Python script—Is this a known issue? If not, I will spend some time on it and get back to you. Thanks!
