Can't Authorize the Smartapp

Wehn I do the following step:
smartthings_cli --clientid CLIENTID --clientsecret CLIENTSECRET

and go to the resulting URL the green authorize button is greyed out with the error message "Client is not associated with a SmartApp in location NAME OF LOCATION". Is this now broken by some kind of Smartthings change to the OAuth process? Does anybody know a workaround or a way to fix?
