Image shifting with head movements

Hi. Using the slam version of the dream air, I'm getting slight image shifting when I move my head. From stationary, if I move my head left, the image shifts right and vice versa. It's the same with up and down. If I shake my head slowly, the image will shift as the direction of my head movements change, making the image shift left and right. As it's hard to keep your head PERFECTLY still, it creates quite a floaty experience when using the headset.

This only happens when a new direction is done. For example, if I slowly pan my head in 1 direction its stays steady.

Is there any setting that can be causing this?

I have occasionally noticed a similar thing when starting up, but it seems to go away. If you cover and uncover the cameras, does it start working correctly?
If the world is essentially permanently stuck to your head, then perhaps it could be a complete failure of slam tracking and its falling back to 3DOF IMU movement.

It's not permanently stuck. It's just like a millisecond delay in the movement. So when panning my head left and right, it's like the image is moving left and right in the opposite direction when my direction changes. Only very slightly, but it's enough to cause a floaty experience. I dont get this with the pimax driver, however using the pimax driver I still get image movement when moving my head. It's quite hard to explain but I know I'm not the only 1 who is experiencing it.

Nothing wrong with the actual tracking, when playing KingdomeCome, the health bar tracks my head movement perfectly.

I have also noticed this problem, first i thought it's the ipd not correct, but now after setting it correctly it's still pretty wobbly. For me on 5090 and 9850x3d it's not milliseconds, but feels like literal 1cm movements of the headset in the space on each head turn.

From stationary, turning the head right the image will shift left. It's stable if the head turn is continuous. But as soon as you change direction, it shifts again. Shaking your head left and right (not aggressively) makes the whole image move right and left. It's very disorientating. I also made a reddit post and others are having the same issue. For such en expensive headset, not sure I want to keep it without a fix in sight.

You could try adjusting Seconds From VSync to Photons, which controls how much latency between tracking and displaying is compensated for.

Yeah I tried that as I saw you mention it on another post to someone else. Unfortunately it did not resolve the issue. The more I look into this, I think it's becoming clear a lot of us got faulty headsets.

For me, the issue went away after I moved my monitor farther back. My guess is that the screen was somehow interfering with the tracking (possibly due to reflections).
