Recently, VkQuake and Ironwail added support for MD3. In Ironwail, this was added after Kebby (who worked on the beautiful models in QBJ3) highlighted the main advantages of working with MD3 in this issue:

Now, QBJ3 does run on Quakespasm as well, but because it lacks the MD3 model support, the models fall back to MDL, making the models look not as nice.
