I am not the developer who will look at your report for reasons.
However there are some unusual entries such as WindowPos = -2055 -34 797 1032

Which is very odd mine is currently well inside the screen area WindowPos = 195 196 1021 881
I would recommend the settings file be renamed and let SumatraPDF build a new one in the portable folder or upgrade to current PRE-Release with a fresh settings file.

Your version seems to be the unsupported \PortableApps\SumatraPDF which has caused problems in the past
dont use a launcher use a clean official standalone copy from https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/dl/rel/3.5.2/SumatraPDF-3.5.2-64.exe

Based on crash report, the crash is not in SumatraPDF.

I found that the problem is caused by Eudict application (dictionary) which loads hooks as follows: WCapture_x64.dll, WCustom_x64.dll, flhhlp.dll.
When “Capture word from mouse” feature is enabled in Eudict, selection of word in Sumatra, and press "ctrl + C", the crash occurs. Otherwise Sumatra works fine.

Well interesting app so even the portable! install hooks into everything so will potentially clash with any app not just SumatraPDF but the DLLS are by today's standards "oldish" 2017

@happybaby8882 Can you provide more detailed steps to reproduce?

I ran eudic portable and I can see it's working when I hover a mouse over text long enough, it shows eudic window with translation

But Ctrl + C didn't crash. Doesn't seem to do anything related

I tried with both 3.5.2 and latest pre-release.

So:

• to trigger the crash, should the checkbox be checked or not checked (on screenshot it's not checked).
• what are the exact steps to reproduce the crash?
• does it happen every time in every file or just sometimes, in specific files?

@kjk that check box in English says "Enable mouse auto word capture" Which I assumed must be ON (checked) to automatically be polling Ctrl+C which would be a potential cause of conflict. However I did not try that function with Ctrl+C as I don't want to have to restore this current VM session. But even without install it is run time hooking into the system, as shown by my hover over SumatraPDF.

I just select any word and press "Ctrl + C", crash would occur.

I try to record screen with gif shot, it crashed too. So, I can't record anything. Here is crash report.

@kjk I have recorded this crash process with following steps:

1. turn off the Eudict "capture word" function
2. everything seems fine
3. turn on the Eudict "capture word"
4. select word in sumatrapdf and ctrl + c
5. it crashed

Can you try pre-release https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/prerelease ?

This could be also be OS version. Technically it crashes in windows code. I'm running latest win 11, you seem to have win 10.

You also have lister installed which also injects itself.

I have tried the pre-version of sumatra, it crashed too.
I‘m using win11

also, it could be mactype or mactype / eudict conflict trying to hook the same function

the crash always happens in BitBlit function which seems hooked by either eudict or mactype (or both).

I don't understand how it's related to Ctrl + C

@kjk In Eudict, I set the "capture word" function's short cut as "Ctrl + mouse", so when the "Ctrl" button is pressed, it would trigger "capture word", then the SumatraPDF crashed.

Does it also crash if you disable / uninstall mactype? And ListaryPortable?

I just tried the exact same eudic setting with latest pre-release.

I press Ctrl and I get eudic window with translation of the word and no crash.

So this could be caused by a combination of multiple programs injecting themselves into SumatraPDF and hooking OS calls.
