Parsing EXIF information

Hi! Current mobile phones frequently save rotated image with an orientation tag in EXIF information, and  as far as I see, _image.load_ does not correct the image automatically. Is there any way to get the EXIF information efficiently, via _image_ package or other packages? I have tried graphicsmagick, but it is too time-expensive! Thank you!
