Trakt iOS App Slow Loading on Verizon Fios Internet

Hi @kevincador - you asked me to post this here a while back but I haven’t got a chance until now.

All the apps (Android and ios) and trakt lite loads so slow on my Verizon Fio internet (home WiFi).

But when I disconnect my Verizon Fios home WiFi internet and go on my AT&T cellular data, it loads extremely fast.

Is there something that’s going on your end that’s causing things to be throttled on Verizon Fios?

It’s been going on for many months but recently it dramatically improved on my AT&T cellular service.

Thanks for opening the issue. I see the second video but not the first one. Anyway, I guess it's bad!

It looks very network-specific. To help narrow this down, could you try some things:

• Could you try with a VPN (Apple's built-in one is already a good one to test but there are some other issues with VPNs) on the same network? Does it make Trakt load faster?
• Are you using Verizon’s default DNS, or a custom DNS like Cloudflare, Google, NextDNS, Pi-hole,...?
• Could you try disabling IPv6 on your router?
• If you can play with the router's QoS settings, that could also help...
• If none of the above does anything, a traceroute or ping to app.trakt.tv from the Verizon connection, if you’re able to run one (by the ways, did you try on a desktop or a laptop, or is the issue on mobile devices only?)

We’re not intentionally throttling Verizon Fios traffic, so this sounds more like a routing, DNS, CDN, or ISP-specific issue. The extra details above should help pinpoint where the issue is.

• Tried it with diff custom DNS cloudflare and google dns etc - still same issue
• IPv6 is disabled - still same issue
• QOS Settings - still same issue
