and why it is enforced in this class.\\

Ans: \\ This policy is something that forces students to get a cumulative exam score of 55\% or more to pass the class. This is because these larger exams imply retention of the topics that we learned rather than just putting them aside and never using them again. So through doing this, students are able to put a lot more of this information in their long term memory which will make us much more successful in the future.

\item (0.2 points) This class grades students by counting how many points they
receive during the semester. Write a short description concerning how many points
are offered, how many points the grade is determined out of, and the valid reasons
a student will be allowed an extension beyond any given deadlines, or allowed a
retake on an assessment. What is the answer to a student that asks for extra time
or a re-take because there was a world-wide internet outage, their house caught on
fire, they had a family hospital emergency, a car accident, they misunderstood the
due date, and the provost of CU called them to a meeting before they could turn in
the assessment? Hint: a student never ever ever has to ask for extra time because
the answer is ALWAYS the same, regardless of circumstances. \\

Ans: \\There are 1203 total points in the class, however they are only calculated out of 1000. Deadlines for assignments are never extended. Due Dates are when work is accepted for full credit(+2 if early). As for late work, it is accepted but with a penalty. If late, no bonuses will be given and if very late, you will receive minus 2 points. As for the extra time and excuses that students give out, the students do not have to worry about this because the 1203/1000 points acts as a buffer for many missed assignments. So technically the points are given.
