Lab Credentials

The password for all appliances and applications can be found in the passwords.txt file on the desktop.

This lab will cover 5 differnt topics in 5 different manuals

  • Security Journey - Leverage the Security Journey workflow to tag, group, and implement policies for a simulated data center
  • Advanced Threat Prevention - Leverage IDPS, NTA, NRD, and MPS to defend against different threat vectors
  • Secure VCF Infrastructure - Use Distributed and Gateway firewalls to proivde a complete security model for VCF Infrastructure
  • vDefend Operations - Leverage SSP and NSX dashboards to operationalize vDefend
  • vDefend Firewall Deep Dive - Manually configure security L4 through L7 security policies for a 3-Tier application.

=== HOL-2770-01: Getting Started with vDefend Firewall – Taking the Security Journey ===

This lab will take the user through the Security Journey. A prescriptive 4 stage workflow that helps infrastructure security administrators systematically strengthen their datacenter segmentation towards zero trust deployment using VMware vDefend Distributed Firewall and Security Intelligence.

=== HOL-2770-02: Multi-layer Defense against AI-driven Cyberattacks with vDefend ===

This lab will take the ues throug the Advanced Threat Prevention capabilities of defend to learn how to leverage vDefend ATP to defend against AI-driven cyberattacks. The user will learn how to leverage Virtual Patching to protect against known/disclosed vulnerabilites in workloads running in the virtual evironment, and NTA/NDR to defend against zero day threats.

=== HOL-2770-03: Secure VCF Infrastructure with VMware vDefend Firewall ===

This lab will take the user through the best practices to secure their VCF environmement with vDefend. The user will enable predefined security policies and understand how these policies protect their environment.

=== HOL-2770-04: Operationalizing vDefend Firewall ===

This lab will take the user through all the available tool within vDefend and VCF to help operationalize their vDefend deployment.

=== HOL-2770-05: VMware vDefend Firewall Technology Deep Dive ===

This lab will take the user on a deepdive on how to manually configure, tags, groups, policies, and firewall rules for a 3-tier application. They will then learn how to layer additional levels of security such as L7 distributed firewall rules.
