The previous setting caused DHCP to give up after 3 attempts / approx 30s and fall back to a static IP address. This will result in retrying with doubling timeouts although the timeouts will rapidly get a bit silly. Unfortunatley FreeRTOS doesn't currently provide a way to limit the maximum timeout but continue trying. See FreeRTOS/FreeRTOS-Plus-TCP#864 .
