Measurement and Computation of Fire Phenomena

The Measurement and Computation of Fire Phenomena (MaCFP) Working Group

An overview of how experimentalists and modelers can contribute to the MaCFP Pyrolysis Model Calibration Exercise (Target: Wood) is available on the matl-db Wiki. On Wednesday, January 28, 2026 (11:00am EST), the MaCFP Condensed Phase subgroup will organize a virtual meeting to share current results and next steps for this exercise.

Guidelines for participation in MaCFP-4 have been prepared. On March 28, 2025, these guidelines were shared in a virtual meeting designed to coordinate (1) the experimental component of the MaCFP-4 Pyrolysis Model Calibration exercise and (2) the modeling component of the MaCFP-4 Radiation Heat Transfer exercise.

Presentation slides, a recording of this meeting (inlcuding discussions at the end), and the Guidelines document are available on the MaCFP-4 Releases Page.
