In pratice, derenzo/hotspot phantom only have activity in the spots, not in the background. It is of interest to add a background to better represent PET imaging context, thus making claim of resolvability more robust. However, the VPR computation in the previous version assumed that the value in the background was spill-over from the spots. Thus, even with a perfect reconstruction, the VPR would be bounded and resulted in incorrect interpretation. This PR add a way to estimate the activity in the background of the phantom to correct the VPR computation.
