PickQuick is a movie recommendation platform that lets users quickly discover new content tailored to their preferences. Users can filter by genres and streaming providers, receive random curated picks from a larger pool, and save movies to their personal "To Watch" list. The goal is to reduce decision fatigue by giving fast, relevant, and fun recommendations without endlessly scrolling through streaming platforms.

To install and run the PickQuick application locally, follow these steps:

Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/MelissaHarper/launchcode-fullstack-project.git

Navigate to the backend project directory:
cd backendOr open it in your preferred development environment

Configure your environment variables: Use the included example.env file to create your own .env file and fill in your sensitive data.

Build and run the Spring Boot app:
mvn spring-boot:run
The backend will be available at http://localhost:8080
