add coverage workflow

i thought you might want to revisit a code coverage workflow, now that you're a bit further along

Fair enough, I'll take it, though I know what bits I don't like already =D

In the interest of future development (refactor etc) I'd be interested in bouncing ideas off you on the design proposal on branch fileformat-design, which aims to do major change to the file format, guiding future tool capabilities. Granted it's currently just writing down what I understand of the problem, not proposal, but I've got a feeling that a solid data structure will help direct coding efforts massively.

haha you'll come around. you might need to make an account at codecov for this to work, but then it will comment with the coverage change on your pull requests

It's not exactly in my wheelhouse, but if i can help i will. You could maybe enable the 'discussions' tab on this repo?
