Stop Windows 11 automatic updates and prevent forced upgrades (like 25H2) by pausing updates until the year 2199.
If you are fed up with the problem causing Windows 11 updates like 25H2, KB5077181 and KB5074109, you can use this .reg file to pause Windows updates until Microslop (Microsoft) stops release slop updates that mostly cause issues.
This simple .reg file modifies Windows Update to extend the pause expiry date far into the future. it does this by modifying the date saved in the Windows registry, instead of 7 days in the future, it will be set many years in the future.
Caution
Please note that pausing Windows Updates “indefinitely” prevents your system from receiving critical security patches. This can leave your computer vulnerable to malware, exploits, and other security risks. If recent updates have caused problems on your system, temporarily disabling or delaying updates may help. However, this should only be a short-term measure. Running Windows without up-to-date security updates significantly reduces your system’s protection, so you should take extra precautions. For some, reduced protection does not impact them as they are up-to-date with their exploit and malware knowledge and are not likely to download malware. But there will always be people who ARE effected by reduced protection.
Therefore, only pause if you are having issues with the new updates, are scared of the possibility of not being able to use your pc if it updates or if you are in the group that isn't affected by reduced system protection. If you are not in the unaffected group of people, either don't pause it “indefinitely” or unpause as soon as Microsoft fixes everything.

Follow these steps carefully
- Open Settings
- Go to Windows Update
- Click Pause updates
This step is important. Windows must already be in a paused state before running the .reg, otherwise Windows Update will override the values.
- Download the .reg file
- Double-click the file to run it.
- Click Yes when the User Account Control (UAC) prompt appears.
- Click Yes to confirm you want to add the information to the registry.
- Reopen Settings → Windows Update
- You should see:
Updates paused until 2199
