About the PR

Added more RCD options under "Walls and flooring" category, for diagonal lattice tiles.

Why / Balance

Diagonal lattice tiles are not craftable, buildable or RCDable. This makes it so they are at least RCDable.

Requirements

  • I have read relevant guidelines/documentation to this PR found on our devwiki.
  • I have added media to this PR or it does not require an ingame showcase.
  • I can confirm this PR contains either no AI-generated content, or AI-generated content that meets our guidelines.

How to test

Get an RCD, go to "Walls and flooring" category, pick one of the new diagonal lattice options, rotate them, and put them.

First ever PR here. I do not know if some comment tags or labels should be added around the changes, or what adjustments are necessary.

I'll say I personally am a bit wary with messing with lattice in general as it can have some very strange interactions. I'll look at this friday and see what I can parse from this to make sure there isn't any odd behavior from it.

Hello, and thanks.
I recall Hardlight had some RCD with lattice options too?

Also, I see several possible alternatives, to somehow be able to get diagonal lattice:

  • Build it somehow from the construction menu, which sounds weird for anything touching lattice or structural plating.
  • Construction graph fun, where normal lattice can be turned into diagonal lattice somehow, just like how girders can be turned into solid or reinforced walls (maybe we can use wirecutters or something reshape normal lattice?).
  • Trying to deconstruct already diagonal structural plating (by removing diagonal plating with the maintenance jack or RCD, the lattice beneath it shares the diagonal shape and orientation).

I think what they meant is the physics and all kinds of weird stuff that will happen if you put a grid on already initialized grid, while yes there will always be some fishy tho should be fine regardless due to SRD kinda works the same way as RCD does and just add a "new" tile ontop of a grid.
