In the Layout of pricing the Navbar was already declared which was causing a navbar to render twice

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Refactor

    • The landing layout no longer renders the site navigation; only the main content is displayed.
  • Style

    • Navigation responsiveness revised: navigation items and toggle now shift visibility at a larger viewport width, altering which elements appear on mobile versus desktop.

✏️ Tip: You can customize this high-level summary in your review settings.

Walkthrough

Removed the Navbar import and JSX from the landing layout; navbar component breakpoint utilities were changed to custom min-[1115px] and other specific breakpoints for responsive visibility and sizing.

Changes

Cohort / File(s) Summary
Layout — Navbar removed
apps/web/src/app/(main)/(landing)/layout.tsx
Removed Navbar import and its JSX; Layout now renders only {children} inside the section.
Navbar — responsive breakpoints adjusted
apps/web/src/components/landing-sections/navbar.tsx
Replaced md:/lg: responsive utility classes with custom breakpoints (min-[1115px]:, min-[1270px]:, min-[1173px]:) across toggler, desktop links, gaps, text sizing, and mobile panel visibility; purely presentational CSS adjustments.

Estimated code review effort

🎯 3 (Moderate) | ⏱️ ~20 minutes

  • Verify removal of Navbar from the landing layout doesn't leave unresolved imports or missing layout expectations.
  • Review navbar.tsx breakpoint replacements for consistency across screen widths and ensure no overlapping/conflicting utility classes remain.
  • Check other references to the Navbar component elsewhere in the app to confirm no unintended side effects.

Poem

🐰 I nudged the nav aside with care,
Children now breathe the openair.
Breakpoints tuned and classes neat,
The landing skips a lighter beat.

79-81: replace hex colors with design‑token tailwind classes

on the changed lines, classes like text-[#d1d1d1], bg-[#0d1117], hover:bg-[#161b22], and border-[#30363d] violate the guideline to avoid hardcoded hex colors in components. please switch these to semantic, design‑token‑backed tailwind classes (for example, text-text-secondary, bg-surface-elevated, border-border-subtle, or the closest equivalents defined in design-tokens.ts / tailwind.config.ts). you may also want to align the mobile “contribute” button (line 137) to the same tokenized styles in a follow‑up.

based on learnings, these components should reference semantic design tokens instead of raw hex values.

60-67: breakpoint realignment looks coherent

the new min-[1115px] breakpoint is applied consistently to:

  • hide the menu toggle on desktop (line 60),
  • show the desktop nav links (lines 79‑81),
  • and hide the mobile dropdown (line 120).

this keeps a clear mobile vs desktop split without introducing layout or accessibility issues, given the existing aria attributes and escape‑key handling.

Also applies to: 79-81, 115-121

60-60: Consider using standard Tailwind breakpoints or defining custom breakpoints in config.

The custom breakpoints (min-[1115px], max-[1270px], max-[1173px]) are very specific and don't align with Tailwind's standard breakpoint system. This adds maintenance complexity and makes the responsive behavior less predictable.

Consider either:

  1. Use standard Tailwind breakpoints (sm: 640px, md: 768px, lg: 1024px, xl: 1280px, 2xl: 1536px) and adjust the design to work with these standard breakpoints.

  2. Define custom breakpoints in tailwind.config.ts with semantic names if these specific breakpoints are required:

// tailwind.config.ts
theme: {
  extend: {
    screens: {
      'nav-desktop': '1115px',
      'nav-compact': { max: '1270px' },
      'nav-minimal': { max: '1173px' },
    }
  }
}

Then use semantic class names:

className="hidden nav-desktop:flex nav-compact:gap-4 nav-minimal:gap-3 ..."

This improves maintainability and makes the responsive behavior more explicit.

Also applies to: 79-81, 103-103, 120-120

⚠️ Potential issue | 🟠 Major

Replace hardcoded hex color with design token.

The text-[#d1d1d1] uses a hardcoded hex value, which violates the coding guideline: "Never use hardcoded hex values directly in components; always reference colors from the design token system using Tailwind classes."

Apply this diff to use a semantic color from the design token system:

-      <div
-        className="hidden min-[1115px]:flex items-center gap-5 max-[1270px]:gap-4 max-[1173px]:gap-3 tracking-tight text-lg max-[1270px]:text-base max-[1173px]:text-sm font-light max-[1173px]:font-normal text-[#d1d1d1]"
-      >
+      <div
+        className="hidden min-[1115px]:flex items-center gap-5 max-[1270px]:gap-4 max-[1173px]:gap-3 tracking-tight text-lg max-[1270px]:text-base max-[1173px]:text-sm font-light max-[1173px]:font-normal text-text-secondary"
+      >

Note: Replace text-text-secondary with the appropriate semantic color name from your design token system (e.g., text-neutral-300 or similar).

As per coding guidelines, always use semantic color names from the design token system.

In apps/web/src/components/landing-sections/navbar.tsx around lines 79 to 81,
replace the hardcoded hex class `text-[#d1d1d1]` with the design-token semantic
Tailwind class (for example `text-text-secondary` or `text-neutral-300`) so the
component references the project color token system; update the className string
to remove the hex and add the chosen semantic class ensuring spacing and class
order remain valid.

⚠️ Potential issue | 🟠 Major

Replace hardcoded GitHub colors with design tokens.

Multiple hardcoded hex values (#0d1117, #161b22, #30363d) are used directly, which violates the coding guideline. Even for GitHub brand colors, these should be defined in the design token system and referenced via semantic names.

If these colors need to match GitHub's branding, define them in your design token system (e.g., in apps/web/src/lib/design-tokens.ts) and reference them via Tailwind classes. For example:

// in design-tokens.ts
github: {
  bg: '#0d1117',
  bgHover: '#161b22',
  border: '#30363d'
}

Then update the component:

         <Link
           href="https://github.com/apsinghdev/opensox"
           target="_blank"
           rel="noopener noreferrer"
-          className="hidden min-[1115px]:flex items-center gap-2 px-4 py-2.5 bg-[#0d1117] hover:bg-[#161b22] transition-colors rounded-lg border border-[#30363d] text-white"
+          className="hidden min-[1115px]:flex items-center gap-2 px-4 py-2.5 bg-github-bg hover:bg-github-bgHover transition-colors rounded-lg border border-github-border text-white"

In apps/web/src/components/landing-sections/navbar.tsx around line 103 (and also
update the similar button at line 137), the button uses hardcoded GitHub hex
colors (#0d1117, #161b22, #30363d); create semantic design tokens for these
values in apps/web/src/lib/design-tokens.ts (e.g., github.bg, github.bgHover,
github.border), export them, and then replace the hardcoded hexes by referencing
those tokens in the component — either by wiring them into Tailwind via your
tailwind theme (preferred) or by applying CSS custom properties / inline style
values sourced from the design tokens; ensure both desktop (line 103) and mobile
(line 137) button classNames use the token-backed classes/variables instead of
literal hex values.

hey @AbhijitPrajapati12 ! could you please look at the coderabbit reviews and fix those! thanks

Hey @huamanraj, I noticed the error earlier, but it's referring to the inline hard-coded hex values that already exist in the codebase, so I'm not sure how to resolve it cleanly. I considered fixing it by adding new color variables in the tailwind.config.ts file and using those, but that introduces unnecessary changes. Let me know if it's okay to proceed with that approach or if you have a better suggestion

@AbhijitPrajapati12 try to use the existing vars in tailwind if that doesn't work then let me know!
and Thanks for being patient!
