Video Scoring

It's often necessary to curate and append metadata to individual video frames so that we can qualitatively consider what is happening during a particular instant of behavior. This process is tedious, and one of the reasons that nigeLab was developed was in the hopes of making it easier to execute scoring on very-large videos and also integrate that scored metadata with the rest of the normal experimental neurophysiological data, so that the results can be interpreted more quickly. Here's an example work-flow for video scoring.

Code

load('P:\Rat\BilateralReach\BilateralAudio_Tank.mat'); % Somebody's thesis data
blockObj = tankObj{1,3}; % Only certain blocks are used for these analyses.
scoreVideo(blockObj);dd

At this point, it will probably take a while to manually score the block. Until a more extensive (and current) guide is uploaded, the best place to look for general video-scoring instructions (for rats) would be here (the interfaces are not identical; but principles, such as click-to-drag for video alignment, and tagging individual video frames with "events", are similar).

Once you are satisfied with your scoring, save it and then proceed to the next step.

doTrialVidExtraction(blockObj);
