Summary of Changes

Hello @abhishekjaisw, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request integrates a new data source for Poland's census information, focusing on demographic and socio-economic statistics. It establishes an automated pipeline for data ingestion and processing, ensuring that the data is regularly updated and correctly structured for use. The changes enable consistent and reliable access to key population metrics for Poland.

Highlights

  • New Dataset Integration: Introduced a comprehensive dataset for Poland's demographics and socio-economic statistics, sourced from official national datasets.
  • Automated Data Processing: Added a Python script (download_input_data.py) to automate the extraction, transformation, and loading of raw Excel data into a standardized CSV format, including translation of Polish terms.
  • Configuration and Metadata: Included necessary configuration files (StatisticsPoland_pvmap.csv, Statistics_Poland_metadata.csv, manifest.json) to define data mappings, import parameters, and establish a quarterly refresh schedule for the dataset.
  • Test Data and Schema: Provided test input and output files, along with template and statistical variable schema files, to ensure data integrity and proper mapping.

Code Review

This pull request adds a new data import for Poland census data, including the download script, configuration files, and test data. The changes are well-structured. I've found a few issues:

  • The README.md has some inaccuracies and formatting issues that could confuse users.
  • There's a significant inconsistency in the naming of generated statistical variables (StatVars), which could lead to data modeling problems.
  • The generated MCF files have minor formatting issues (excessive newlines).
Please see my detailed comments for suggestions.
