Thanks for making this runnable in older Python versions!
I've taken this and added GitHub provider support (tested in 3.13 on iOS, under the a-Shell python version) and updated the provider catalog entries based on my pi.dev setup - feel free to cherry-pick this, and my fork has a few more enhancements (some of which are personal choices, so I took the time to hack out the bits that would be more generally useful).
