Just a heads up that I saw this and am looking into it. I see the problem you're pointing out here, and agree it's an issue. Hope to get to reproducing/testing this PR in a day or two, and then we can pull the trigger on this.

(I know too that you proposed similar code in a previous PR addressing a different issue. Thanks for sticking with this and splitting it into its own issue/PR!)

any news about this dynamic directory name PR? We will move to use new HDP3.1 with Solr 7.4, and would it be good to have these changes in a HDP search version 4.

Thanks for the gentle reminder that I'd left this hanging out there. I'm sorry I lost track of it.

I have no issues with the code change the last time I looked at at this. The only delay was testing it out, which I spent a bit of time on but never followed up on. I've got a cluster up now and will make sure to reproduce this by the end of the week. As long as everything goes as planned, happy to merge this in then.
