Introductory CTF for LASP Summer 2019 training

CTF to teach self-learning in Linux, and foster an understanding of application security fundamentals

Overview

CTFs are a popular way to learn about computer security without breaking any laws. The target audience for CTF newcomers to Linux and/or computer security.

  • Levels 0-4 focus on core Linux command usage.
  • Levels 5-8 cover shell security
  • Levels 9+ look into buffer overflows, shellcode injection, and bounds checking

Hopefully, the spectrum of difficulty will provide value to students with a variety of experience levels.

Getting started

  1. Log into the training machine with your provided credentials
  2. Skim the "getting started" file
  3. cd to /ctf/level0 and read the objective file
