I have switched to cassandra 0.8.2 and made the changes needed to support that version. I also implemented the truncate function. At the top of my repository there's a patch which changes tr1's shared_ptr to boots'. That's something I needed, not sure if you'll find useful. The rest I think you may want to merge in.
