What this does

ROADMAP.md becomes the roadmap. The Prisma 8 RC1 roadmap (from projects/prisma-8-rc1/roadmap.md) moves to the repo root, replacing the March-era phase document wholesale — with it go the stale phase statuses, the "compatibility layer" claim (the parallel-install story is the real answer), and the bare "LTS" wording (now: Prisma 7 is maintained — bug fixes — for 12 months from 8.0.0 final). One roadmap, one location; GitHub renders the collapsible sections natively, so the file is directly shareable.

Database tiers stated plainly, everywhere they matter: Prisma 8 carries PostgreSQL to general availability — and that is all. MongoDB ships in early access; SQLite is a proof of concept. Added to ROADMAP.md's opening, the README's supported-databases section, the release-definition promises, and the repo-migration doc (all three facade packages still rename to @prisma/* — tiers ride package READMEs and the scoreboard, not package scope).

The rendered page is ROADMAP.html, sitting beside ROADMAP.md (the styled version with owners and progress bars). View it rendered via:
https://html-preview.github.io/?url=https://github.com/prisma/prisma-next/blob/main/ROADMAP.html
(No deploy mechanism — an earlier revision added a GitHub Pages workflow; dropped as unnecessary.)

Stale planning material deleted — docs/ documents the system as it is:

  • docs/planning/ (April/May milestone docs and the mongo-target reference archive, whose learnings were already promoted to the architecture docs; the one inbound link is repointed)
  • the "Roadmap Snapshot" section in docs/Architecture Overview.md
  • the roadmap-rationale clause in docs/Telemetry.md

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated supported-database guidance for Prisma 8 RC1: PostgreSQL targeted for general availability, MongoDB for early access, and SQLite as a proof of concept.
    • Reworked roadmap materials (including release-candidate expectations, release conditions, and status checkpoints) and refreshed scoreboard wording.
    • Expanded “Operating the System” guidance for drift handling, environment policies, and observability.
    • Clarified telemetry usage language and removed outdated milestone and exploratory planning content.

…tabase tiers

ROADMAP.md now carries the Prisma 8 RC1 roadmap (migrated from
projects/prisma-8-rc1/roadmap.md, which is deleted along with the
duplicate HTML copy — the rendered page moves to website/roadmap.html,
deployed by a new GitHub Pages workflow). The old ROADMAP.md phases,
the compatibility-layer claim, and the bare LTS wording are gone.

Database tiers stated everywhere they matter: PostgreSQL goes GA at
Prisma 8 — and that is all; MongoDB is early access; SQLite is a
proof of concept. All three facade packages still rename to @prisma/*
(tiers ride READMEs and the scoreboard, not package scope).

docs/planning/ (April/May milestones, mongo-target archive) is
deleted; the Architecture Overview "Roadmap Snapshot" section and the
Telemetry roadmap-rationale clause go with it. docs/ documents the
system as it is.

- Line 255: Update the roadmap statement describing announcement prerequisites
to replace “telemetry consent prompt” with the terminology used in
docs/Telemetry.md: “first-run notice.” Keep the surrounding Windows, Bun, Deno,
and telemetry backend checks unchanged.
- Line 5: Update the ROADMAP header scoreboard summary to account for the
approximately 30 experimental cells reported in the detailed breakdown, either
by adding that category to the header totals or explicitly stating that
experimental cells are excluded; keep the summary consistent with the breakdown
near the experimental-cell entry.
- Line 73: Update the roadmap paragraph to clarify that “four” refers only to
the four planned language changes, while separately identifying the dependent
cleanup and regeneration work; alternatively, change the count to six if all six
entries are intended as planned changes. Keep the wording consistent with the
entries that follow.
- Line 96: Update the ADR 129 Markdown link in ROADMAP.md to use a
repository-root-relative path, such as docs/... or ./docs/..., instead of
../../docs/..., while preserving the existing link target and surrounding
roadmap text.

…ount, ADR 129 link, telemetry wording

The header scoreboard now lists the ~30 experimental cells like the detailed breakdown does; the schema-language intro names the four language changes and the two dependent items instead of an ambiguous "Four are planned"; the ADR 129 link is repo-root-relative (ROADMAP.md sits at the root); and "telemetry consent prompt" becomes "telemetry first-run notice" to match docs/Telemetry.md. Applied to both ROADMAP.md and its ROADMAP.html rendering.

Re the CodeRabbit review body (pullrequestreview-4755772134): it is only the bundle wrapper for the four inline findings (ROADMAP.md lines 5, 73, 96, 255), each of which has been addressed and resolved individually in 884adbb. No separate change required.
