My apologies, I didn't realise there were still CRLF files in the repo. I've normalised the line endings and updated the .gitattributes, could you rebase on latest main? |

Based on @roflmuffin 's feedback in #1331 (comment), and since SlynxCZ's PR does not yet include the functionality implemented here, this PR adds the missing foundation needed for that work
The goal of this PR is to help pave the way for the interesting and valuable feature proposed in #1331
