Pull from npm, don't save to source repo

• Saved copies of third-party dependencies should not exist in the source code of this repo, but instead pulled from npm where able
• Preparing theme more for eventual removal into a standalone Hugo theme repo or Hugo module, by removing unused template files, etc.
• Add icons to landing page buttons
• Add external link browser behavior to toml
