name: Simone Girardi
location: Italy
role: Embedded Software Engineer (Automotive)
dream_role: Making humanoid robots walk, talk, and maybe cook
interests:
- Humanoid robotics & motion control
- Automation — if I do it twice, I script it
- DIY projects where tradition meets technology
- Cooking traditional Italian dishes from scratch
philosophy: >
I write code that runs close to the metal.
I build things that move in the real world.
And when I'm done, I make dinner from scratch —
because not everything needs to be optimized.I've worked in robotics — the humanoid kind, where you make machines walk and not fall on their face. That field shaped how I think about software, and it's still where my deepest curiosity lives.
Currently I work in automotive embedded, building and testing safety-critical software. It's a field where precision matters and mistakes aren't an option — which is a great school for any engineer. Still, my long-term north star points toward robotics and intelligent machines.
Outside of work, I'm a maker at heart: home automation, IoT tinkering, 3D printing, or whatever project lets me blend tech with the analog world. I also love cooking traditional Italian food — the kind that takes time, patience, and zero shortcuts.
