Here you will find the guides necessary to setting up your xServer.

The x42 Core Development team highly encourages anyone that wants to host an xServer to do so, we also advise the new xServer owners to use Linux machine for this process, it streamlines the hosting immensely and it is also more cost-effective and uses less computing resources in general.

DISCLAIMERS: A cabled, stable internet connection is paramount for the setup and maintenance of xServer, we highly advise YOU DO NOT setup your xServer on a Wi-Fi (or any other wireless) connection.

We also advise users to not setup their xServer client on their home PCs or servers if they do not have full control over their network, many ISPs implement blocks of various types on regular home networks. Users should also be aware that xServers hosted outside Data Centers (where VPS' are hosted) will not have the same internet and electricity stability as the ones that are.

You will also need full control over your firewall and router settings to open the required ports.

Warning: Do not install and/or run both xCore and xServer clients on the same computer.

Before you start on the xServer side of the configuration make sure you have a properly setup xCore client on a secondary machine to delegate the cold funds to xServer, you have find the guide on how to do this here.

Steps listed below have a [WIN] or [TUX] designation for Windows and Linux machines respectively.

Root Folder for WIN systems: %appdata%

Root Folder for TUX systems: .

You'll need to install the following prerequisites before getting started, click on your operating system for each of the steps below.

  3. Wallet Creation

  4. xServer setup using xCore

[WIN] After your xServer client is installed and configured we highly advise you synchronize it without unlocking it, doing that will speed up the syncing and indexing process immensely.
